Graduation FAQ

We hold graduation ceremonies each month. To confirm their exact graduation date graduates should reach out to their Academic Coach/Student Advisor.

We hold all campus ceremonies in our beautiful Main Theatre located at 6363 Sunset Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90028. This historic building once housed Elvis’ private recording studio and seats over 300 guests.

Yes! We will stream the on-campus ceremonies to our website at lafilm.edu/live for any friends or family who may not be able to attend in person.

Graduates are limited to three (3) tickets for their guest, graduates do not require a ticket. This number is due to theatre capacity, and fire hazard protocols. Graduates may reserve tickets for their guests online at the link sent to them via email one month prior to their graduation.

Ceremonies typically last around one hour.

To enhance the experience for all graduates, we will be integrating the recognition of online students into the livestream of the on-campus graduation ceremony. Here’s how the new format will work: During the livestream of the on-campus graduation, the names of online graduates will be displayed during the ceremony. This unified approach allows us to celebrate both campus and online graduates together in one event. We believe this change will create a more cohesive and inclusive celebration for all students. Online students and guest may view their ceremony at lafilm.edu/live

Cap and gown will be available for pick up for those attending the on-campus ceremony at our monthly Graduate Information Session held about seven (7) days before graduation. Online students who will not be participating on campus will be sent detailed instructions on how to order their grad package for delivery.
If you cannot attend the Graduate Information Session, we will have them available for pick up the morning of graduation.

Diplomas and honor cords will be mailed directly to graduates at the address provided on their graduation application, approximately 8-10 weeks following their graduation ceremony. For diploma related inquiries please email Registrar@lafilm.edu.
